This edition will be the first to use the planetarium’s new digital system with high-resolution images that accompany the concerts.
Montsec Astronomical Park presents the 13th edition of the ‘Music under the stars’ cycle, an event that unites astronomy and music in one of the darkest skies in Catalonia. This annual cycle offers a magical experience for music enthusiasts and astronomy admirers.
The presentation ceremony was held this morning at the headquarters of the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs, with the presence of the vice president of the Provincial Council of Lleida and the head of the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs, Estefania Rufach; the director of the Montsec Astronomical Park, Salvador J. Ribas: the mayoress of Áger, Mireia Burgués; and the councilor of the Noguera region, Jaume Monfort. The event is also organized in collaboration with the Casa de la Música Terres de Lleida-Orfeó Lleidatà.
The representative of FGC Turisme, Salvador J. Ribas, emphasized that the Cycle “is an opportunity to combine cultural values such as astronomy and music, so that a combination is generated between the two ‘actors’ of the show (music and sky). It is also an opportunity for the municipality of Àger with the presence of top-level musicians.” And he also emphasized that “this edition will be the first in which we will use the planetarium’s new digital system in high resolution, therefore, the images with which we will accompany the music will be of higher quality than ever.”
Under the spectacular 12 meter diameter dome of the space known as the Eye of Montsec, visitors will have the opportunity to appreciate the music of Catalan artists and groups or residents of Catalonia in a truly exceptional environment. Each 45-minute concert will be followed by sky-watching sessions in the telescope park, allowing attendees to explore the wonders of the universe after enjoying the live music.
