At the Montsec Astronomical Park we work to protect our sky, but also to care for the land we walk on. In 2024 we achieved the total decarbonization of our activity, becoming a benchmark for sustainability within the operations of FGC Turisme.

– Goodbye to diesel, hello to aerothermal heating: we replaced the old diesel boiler with a modern aerothermal heating system. This technology uses the energy of the outside air and works exclusively with electricity.
– 100% clean energy: the electricity we consume is guaranteed to be 100% solar, thanks to FGC’s responsible purchasing policy.
– Pioneers in solar energy: we installed the first photovoltaic plant of FGC Turisme in the Park. With this 15kWp installation, we are able to generate our own energy and cover 22% of the equipment’s electricity consumption.
The effort and investment of 91,000 euros allowed us to obtain direct environmental results that are very relevant for our environment:
– Zero fossil fuel emissions: the consumption of diesel for the operation of the center has been completely eliminated.
– Fewer greenhouse gases: we avoid the emission of up to 17 tons of CO2 per year.
– Commitment 2030: this milestone is part of FGC’s 2030 Climate Action Plan, with the aim of leading the ecological transition and respect for the territory.
In Montsec, we don’t just look at the stars; we also ensure that our passage through this privileged landscape is as clean and respectful as possible.
