– From October 9 to 12, the Montsec Astronomical Park is offering a wide range of nighttime and daytime activities, family workshops, scientific tours, and geological walks so visitors can enjoy “Star Tourism.”
– Highlights of the new offerings include the special screening of “SOLARIA,” daytime screenings for children, and a guided tour of the Montsec Observatory facilities.

From October 9 to 12, the Montsec Astronomical Park (PAM) is hosting a new edition of its traditional Astronomy Festival, which marks its 12th edition this year. The main goal of this event is to bring science and space education to audiences of all ages as a unique form of tourism: “Star Tourism”.
Over the course of four days, the festival will combine science, culture, and recreation through a varied program of activities, including planetarium shows, educational workshops, stargazing sessions, guided tours, and daytime activities.
The 12th Astronomy Festival offers activities designed for both families and science and astronomy enthusiasts:
Special Nighttime Experience “SOLARIA + The Autumn Sky” (October 9, 10, and 11): includes a screening in the dome of the Ull del Montsec of “Solaria,” an artistic creation inspired by the Astronomical Park itself and promoted by the Vértices Platform. The screening will be followed by a live session at the planetarium and stargazing at the Telescope Park.
“Voyager” 3D Nighttime Experience (October 9, 10, and 11): a special live planetarium show at Ull del Montsec, complemented by stargazing at the Telescope Park.
Special Nighttime Experience: “The Autumn Sky” (October 9 and 11): a live presentation at the planetarium and nighttime stargazing with telescopes to discover the constellations of the season.
Visit to the Montsec Observatory (October 11): at 12:00 p.m., there will be a special guided tour of the scientific research facilities at the Montsec Observatory (IEEC), including the Joan Oró and TRAC telescopes.
Daytime Family Activities (October 10 and 11):
– “Discovering the Stars” (October 10, 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.): a planetarium show and a workshop on making a star chart, recommended for children up to 12 years old.
– “Journey Through the Solar System” (October 11, 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.): planetarium show, solar observation, and a sundial workshop for children up to 12 years old.
Geological Walk and Solar Observation in Àger (October 12):
– At 10:00 a.m., the walking tour “The Moon and Mars: a stroll through the streets of Àger” will take place, offering participants the chance to discover the local geology and its connection to the stars. The tour will be led by Jordi Panisello (Eureka SGN) and sponsored by Geoparc Orígens (advance registration required at [email protected]).
– At 12:00 p.m., the activity “Observing Our Star, the Sun” will take place at Plaça dels Jubilats in Àger, organized in collaboration with the Montsec Observatory (IEEC) and the Lleida Astronomical Society.
