‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ premieres at the Parc Astronòmic del Montsec, from December 2, there will be 6 screenings until the end of the Christmas Holidays and then the screenings will continue throughout the year 2024.
A captivating montage that fuses the music of the legendary album, images from the universe and current technology. This program aims to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Pink Floyd album with a special screening of the documentary. This show fuses the music of Pink Floyd with astronomy imagery to create a unique immersive experience that transports viewers into the world of psychedelic rock and outer space.
The show, which has been incredibly successful throughout Europe, is coming to Spain for the first time at the Parc Astronòmic del Montsec. This screening marks an exceptional event for music and astronomy enthusiasts.
Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ album was conceived during the band’s live performances in 1972 and has become a timeless rock classic, with over 50 million copies sold worldwide the world.
The film combines stunning footage, from the solar system and beyond, played for 42 minutes while the remastered 5.1 version of ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ plays. The 10 songs of the album are accompanied by a visual show created only for this occasion and each of the tracks has a different visual theme with a 2D experience.
The director of the Parc Astronòmic del Montsec, Salvador J. Ribas, has expressed his satisfaction with this show and has commented that the PAM are “delighted to share this unique experience with all music and astronomy fans. ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ show provides a unique opportunity to fuse the iconic music of Pink Floyd with the wonders of the universe.”
The projection of this innovative show offers a different experience than what we are used to and opens the Astronòmic
to new audiences. Ribas added: “It’s a unique way to explore the connection between music and space.”
In the same vein, Ribas has highlighted the historical importance of this event: “If Pink Floyd chose a planetarium 50 years ago to present this emblematic album, it is ideal that it now ‘returns’ to planetariums, it is a unique and special commemoration of 50th anniversary of this iconic album.”
Tickets can be purchased on the official website parcastronomic.cat, for a price of €20.00 and includes the screening of Pink Floyd’s audiovisual show and a guided tour of the Telescope Park of the Parc Astronòmic del Montsec.
